We don't often like to talk about pride. Truth is, we all have it. There's no doubt that this writer has struggled with a great deal of pride, to my discredit. The good news is that God gives us the tools to recognize pride and the blood of Jesus and His grace, through repentance. Pride keeps us from receiving the blessings of God and, more importantly, from knowing Him well. When the Bible gives us warnings - it is best that we heed them. Scripture talks extensively regarding pride because it is the one thing that keeps us from paying attention to those warnings. Below are scriptures to warn us of the consequences of pride and a hard heart. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal where these may apply to you and then confess them. Allow Him to heal your heart and plant His nature and character in you. You will be so glad you did!

3 JOHN 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
PSALM 139:23-24 God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. [TPT]
PSALM 138:6 For though you are lofty and exalted, you stoop to embrace the lowly. Yet you keep your distance from those filled with pride.
PSALM 138:3 At the very moment I called out to you, you answered me! You strengthened me deep within my soul. [TPT]
