These verses and any linked articles/stories are intended to help jumpstart you in your own studies. MOST VERSES ARE BEST UNDERSTOOD WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE WHOLE LETTER in which it was written. We can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have your own bible and seek on your own. no one or any resource can replace one-on-one time with the king.
If there ever was an "easy button", it is this: SEEK GOD. It is the key to everything. In 2015 I made Matthew 6:33 my life verse. I guess you could say that was when I reversed the direction of my life as a "train". I had been slowing it down and stopping it from moving forward in the direction it was determined to go. Our lives are like that—a train, that is. Slow to start and stop but when it's full steam, it has lots of power behind it and takes a lot of effort to stop it. It took years to slow the direction of my life down and bring it to a stop. Then, Matthew 6:33 was the key that switched directions; changed my mindsets. I still hold onto Matthew 6:33 as my life verse and can tell you I'm convinced even more now than ever, that Seeking God is truly the key to EVERYTHING.

MATTHEW 6:33-34 [TPT] So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
MATTHEW 6:33-34 [KJV] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Isaiah 57-58 are good passages to reflect on and ponder. When we seek God, we must make sure our hearts are pure - meaning we have the right motives. Isaiah 58 reveals a conversation of people crying out and asking God why He hasn't heard or can't be found and He tells them their motives are selfish. It's not out of love for Him or for others, but is self-serving. It's always good, no matter what we do, to have a daily HEART CHECK with the Father and ask Him to reveal where our motives are offf or to purify our hearts more and more.
PSALM 24:3-6 [ESV] Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
ZEPHANIAH 1:4-6 [ESV] I will stretch my hand against…those who bow down on the roofs to the host of the heavens, those who bow down and swear to the Lord and yet swear by Milcom (molech), those who have turned back from following the Lord, who do not seek the Lord or inquire of him.
What stands out to me in Zephaniah 1:4-6 is the CONSEQUENCES of not seeking God. Current culture has painted God, and the Messiah, Jesus, as utopian teddy bears. He is both LION AND LAMB! Perfect in love. The only source of goodness, full of mercy BUT...He hates evil and the wicked. When we don't seek him, we can't know what is good, what is right/wrong. We automatically move toward evil and God HATES evil! He is HOLY and will not align Himself with evil in any form. In Zephaniah 1:5, God points out how much He hates those who "bow down and swear by the Lord YET swear by Milcom" (molech/baal...i.e. anything other than God has it's beginnings in molech/baal/satan. ) That's our culture...to give a half-hearted homage to God but still love this world and all it's desires. We can't be double-minded/two-faced. We either seek God and be ALL-IN or we're not. There's no "appreciating" God and giving a head nod to Him but not living absolutely consecrated (set apart) lives with and for Him! The fence is the worse place to be because one will assume they are right with God and find out too late that they are not. Revelation calls this type of person a "lukewarm" person. And if you think John is writing to unbelievers, you are in for a shock...that was written to BELIEVERS in Yeshua. That "knock" verse? You know, the one that says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock..."? That is written to BELIEVERS in Yeshua! Not unbelievers. One can not "appreciate" God. We must seek Him diligently.
