the nation of Israel
The people of Israel. A people of promise. Who are they? What does Yahweh say about them? What are their promises? How does this apply to the modern nation?

PSALM 149:2-4[NASB] Let Isra’el be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people.
ISAIAH 33:3 [AMPC] At the noise of the tumult (caused by Your voice at which the enemy is overthrown), the peoples flee; at the lifting up of Yourself, nations are scattered.
I am not a scholar or historian, but when I read this it sounds as if this is both a Messianic reference and a prophecy about the tribes of Israel being scattered. "at the lifting up of Yourself" sounds like the crucifixion and "nations are scattered" sounds like a reference to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Diaspora. The book of Isaiah is full of Messianic prophecy. (I will update/correct this as I learn more. As always, please research and study for yourself).
DEUTERONOMY 4:25-27 [AMPC] When children shall be born to you, and children’s children, and you have grown old in the land, if you corrupt yourselves by making a graven image in the form of anything, and do evil in the sight of the Lord your God, provoking Him to anger, I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day that you shall soon utterly perish from the land which you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long upon it but will be utterly destroyed. And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations to which the Lord will drive you.

JEREMIAH 7:3, 5-7 [NASB] Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place…For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood i this place, nor walk after other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.”
JEREMIAH 7:3, 5-7 [NOG] This is what Yahweh Tsebaoth, the Elohim of Israel, says: “Change the way you live and act, and I will let you live in this place… Suppose you really change the way you live and act and you really treat each other fairly. Suppose you do not oppress foreigners, orphans, and widows, or kill anyone in this place. And suppose you do not follow other gods that lead you to your own destruction. Then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave permanently to your ancestors long ago”.
