Our Soul
Few understand the difference between soul and spirit. Yet this is so important. Additionally, it is our soul that acts as a filter for everything: our ability to understand scripture, perceptions in every facet of living, and whether we listen to our body or our spirit. Any wounding in our soul is like a bucket with holes. God desires that we prosper, even as our soul prospers.
Understanding spirit, soul, and body helps us experience who we are!

These verses and any linked articles/stories are intended to help jumpstart you in your own studies. MOST VERSES ARE BEST UNDERSTOOD WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE WHOLE LETTER in which it was written. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have your own bible and take the time to read, study, and allow Holy Spirit to give you revelation. no one or any resource can replace one-on-one time with the king.
Bible versions used will vary and some may be paraphrased. Emphasis is mine.

Did you know God has a soul? That His soul feels pleasure and displeasure? Yes, Yahweh is Spirit (and so are we) but He also has a soul. Humans happen to be wrapped in flesh around our soul and spirit. Hebrews 10 should be read fully in order to grasp the context in which this sentence is written (as with all scripture). Also to read this from the focus of the soul...to feel what God is feeling and speaking here; the warnings given for taking His Word lightly. For there is a consequence for hearing the Word of God yet ignoring it by living the same as before. At the minimum, it causes distress in our soul and His.
