who is the Father?

Father, Yahweh, Adonai, Elohim, God. Who is He? What is the role of the Father? How is He different (and the same) from Jesus and the Holy Spirit? It can be challenging to grasp the various aspects of God. Scripture tells us that our human minds can’t grasp who He is! The tendency is the lump all the names and aspects of God into one hazy idea. Thankfully, scripture does give us revelation into the nature of God. In this section, we will specifically look at God the Father (Adonai, Elohim). I’ve listed verses and at the bottom, created a list of characteristics based on scripture.

DEUTERONOMY 5:4 [NOG] Yahweh spoke face to face from the fire on the mountain.

  6. Jealous (righteous zeal) [Deut 5:7]

  8. “The Living One” (Deut. 4:24)
  9. Covers me/leads me with Love (Song of Songs 2:4; Ex. 17:15)
