Characteristics of SOUL, SPIRIT, HEART, LIFE
In the article, Do You Know Your Soul? (pgs. 24-27), I explain the value of knowing our soul. The starting point of understanding our soul is knowing the difference between the different aspects of our person. We are made up of three parts: Body, Soul, Spirit. Yet, even within that, there are parts of our soul, such as the heart, and aspects such as “life” or “breath”. Within the language of the Holy Scriptures, these words have distinguishing characteristics. In my studies, I started making a list of the characteristics of the different parts of who we are as I found them in scripture and other writings. May it serve as a starting point in clarifying our understanding of ourselves and be a launching pad for your own exploration.
