The End of A Season

At the beginning of July 2026, when I took a summer break, I had no idea that so much would change. My intention was to relax, brainstorm, and pray for direction on how to spread the word about the magazine and begin studying for the next magazine edition, scheduled to be on the topic of Wonder & Awe.
It was never on my radar to even consider closing down–I’ve spent the last 4.5 years fighting hard to keep the magazine going.
Yet, here I am.
And just as I knew in late 2021 that I was to take a step of faith and start a magazine, I somehow know that I must now lay it down. It is the end of a season.
Joy is impossible without gratitude. Not just gratitude for the nice and lovely things, but, specifically, gratitude for the pain and trials…and a heartfelt, genuine gratitude to God.

How do I say THANK YOU to each one of you? So many of you have been with me from the beginning. Thank you for being patient as I was learning how to be a writer, publisher, and designer in front of you.
I toddled about with uncertainty and many mistakes, and just as it seems I was finally getting my footing and finding a groove, I’m having to end this part of my journey.
Even so, I’m grateful for the experience and also the many tears over the years. I fully believe it was preparation for what comes next.

What is Next?
While the path ahead is still a bit fuzzy, there are a few things I can share with certainty:
- WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL. While the magazine is being retired, Paola Lane will continue on as a devotional for those who desire to walk and explore the narrow path which leads to a life-giving and beautiful intimacy with Yahweh. Want the weekly devotional? Click the link below. 👇🏼
- I WILL CONTINUE WRITING & PUBLISHING. Expanding my publishing was already in the works but now it will continue without a magazine (for now).
- SUBSTACK. Instead of a weekly email, I’ll be writing on Substack. (Link below 👇🏼)
- FUTURE EMAILS FROM INK ON PAPER STUDIO. Even though I am no longer composing a weekly email, you will receive an occasional email when I have a new publication or product. Ink On Paper Studio is the publishing house and LLC for Paola Lane. As such, future emails will come from Ink On Paper instead of Paola Lane.
- MAGAZINES STILL AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. As of September, the licensing on many elements and images used in the magazines will expire. At that point, I will no longer be able to legally print any more copies of any magazine edition. Shop now using the link below. 👇🏼
After September, the Paola Lane shop will close permanently, and any remaining copies of the magazine, journals, etc., will be exclusively available at www.inkonpaperstudio.com.
While it may be the end of a season for Paola Lane Magazine, it is the birth of a new season in other aspects. I look forward to exploring what is next with you! I hope you stick around to see what God has up His sleeve. 😎
Thank you for an amazing 4+ years! This has brought an incredible amount of joy to my life and I was pushed far beyond what I thought I was able to do. God has been so good and taught me much about hearing His voice, how to lean into Him, and what it looks like when I yield and say YES to His direction. He knows what brings delight to my heart better than I do. May God receive all glory and honor and may He continue to bless you and all who read the words printed in these magazines! May they bear fruit for many years to come. In Jesus’ name.

While the magazine has to come to an end, Paola Lane will continue as a weekly devotional and blog. You can find the creator and editor, Anamcara Laura, on Substack. She also continues to write and create publications through Ink On Paper Studio, the magazine’s publishing house.
